How to Create Smoother Sailing - Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites
The other day I was tired and hot and short of time. I’d just finished back-to-back to back training classes, had to get the dogs home and fed, myself cleaned up and changed into something more presentable, and then get out the door for a dinner meeting. As I put the car in gear with the AC on high, I stopped.
And took a breath.
I followed the advice I give you and nearly everyone I work with – to quickly improve your outlook and your mood, close your eyes and take three long, slow, deep breaths. Ahhhhh…that did feel so much better.
As I drove home, something miraculous happened – the lights were green. There are 37 traffic lights between the training building and my home. They weren’t all green – a couple of them stopped me, but the first 5 or 6 were green, which got my attention and triggered my playful side. Suddenly I was in the middle of a game – how many lights in a row will be green?
Next time you’re tired and hot and short of time and maybe even patience, close your eyes, take three long, slow, deep breaths, and find something positive and fun to focus on. I promise you’ll feel better fast!
