Think about your brain as a tool you use. That’s actually what it is – it’s not you, it’s the mechanism that runs your body and allows your soul or energy body or whatever you call the non-physical part of you to think, feel, and react.

Just as a hammer can’t evaluate its own usefulness, your brain can’t either. Your brain just hums along, keeping your body breathing and your heart pumping, remembering your to-do list, your shopping list, and your child’s teacher’s name – hopefully! Your brain is too busy doing what it does to spend time and energy cataloguing all the good things you do each day, and appreciating all the talents you have, use, and share easily.

It doesn’t remind you how awesome you are.

Most people don’t see their own worth because they’re too busy getting through the day, and maybe thinking about hopes and dreams for the future. Every day, set aside a few minutes – 5 to 15 will do it – to focus on what’s right about you and what’s right in your world. When you get in the habit of focusing on your talents and what you appreciate in your life, you create mental and physical wellbeing in your body and your life.
