Is there something in your life that you long to do, if only… If only you could afford it, or if only your loved ones approved, or if only you were brave enough?
It doesn’t matter what it is. What matters is that it lights up your imagination, and it feels exciting and maybe a little bit scary, too.
What matters is that you want to do it. So do it.
Don’t give yourself permission to do it “some day” – give yourself the freedom to start planning it now. You can pretend like you’re writing a screenplay for a movie if you want – start scripting how the character that is you will find her way to the goal of her dreams. Daydream what it will feel like when you’re doing that thing you long to do. Journal about what it will look and feel like while you’re doing it.
When you can engage the fanciful part of your brain called imagination, you’re teaching your brain to value the goal and to spot the subtle opportunities that can be stepping stones to your goal. Play with your dream inside your head every day, and one day it’ll become the reality you’ve always dreamed of.
