What do you do every day that feeds your soul? And what the heck is “feeding your soul” and why is it so important?

There’s not a scientific definition for soul-feeding, though research does show that finding a way to distract yourself from problems is very beneficial to mental wellbeing.

So what is feeding your soul? It could be anything – meditation, going for a run, talking with someone important to you, or volunteering for a cause dear to your heart. Almost anything has the potential to feed your soul, with this caveat: it will feed your soul when you let it.

A daily habit that feeds your soul is the easiest way to give yourself a boost of serotonin and dopamine, lowering your stress and enhancing your mental wellbeing.

How can you find something that feeds your soul? Think of the special things you do for others – do them for yourself, too.
