Do you often feel stressed? This Tiny Bite is for you, though you may not like it very much.

Please don’t let it stress you out when I tell you that most of the stress you feel isn’t because of what is happening around you – it’s because of how you’re reacting to what’s happening around you.

Let me say that again…your stress isn’t caused by what’s happening around you, it’s caused by how you’re reacting to what’s happening. When you realize that, you have the one tool you need to reduce your stress – change the way you’re looking at the thing you’re stressing about.

For instance, when I’m running late and driving, it’s very easy for me to get irritated at the slow driver in front of me, the red lights and the dern train that seems to be two miles long. You, too? Instead, focus on taking three deep breaths and looking around for something that’s either beautiful or makes you laugh.

Focus on something other than your tardy arrival – something that will lift your mood instead of intensifying it – and feel your stress melt away. Oh, and when you get there, don’t apologize – instead, thank them for waiting for you.
