Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites - One Habit You Can Use to Create More Success

Most days go fairly well for most people, yet many, if not most, people end their day feeling like things didn’t go as well as they wished.

Our brains are hard-wired to focus on what went wrong, and from an evolutionary standpoint, that makes sense. Mistakes are best used as learning experiences, so those who focus on their mistakes can learn more than those who don’t even notice them.

However, it’s at least as productive to focus on your successes. Just because your brain doesn’t do it automatically for you doesn’t mean it can’t happen. Research into the effects of mindset on success definitively shows that those who celebrate their successes regularly have more success than those whose focus is on their mistakes.

Here’s one way to ensure you focus on your success, no matter how bad you feel your day went: find three good things that went well. At the end of each day, reflect on it with the purpose of writing down at least three good things that happened.

When you celebrate what went right, you’ll find you’ll have even more to celebrate!
