Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites - How to Stop Playing the Shame Game
Do you feel ashamed when you fail at something? Many people do – it’s almost like we’re hard-wired to beat ourselves up when things don’t go as we planned.
Can I give you a different way to feel? And remember that you can feel one way, decide it’s not the way you want to feel, and talk yourself into a different feeling – that’s called neuroplasticity and you can rewire your brain by intentionally changing your thoughts and feelings.
When you try something and it doesn't turn out the way you expected, banish the automatic feeling of shame and congratulate yourself. You tried. You went for it. You learned something new – at the very least, you learned a way that won’t work. Next time you try it, you’ll have a different, better outcome because through the failure, you learned and grew and changed.
Yay, you!
