Why You Want to Embrace Your Destructive Power - Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites Podcast
Do you love going to the beach like I do? The beach holds a beautiful, wild power and a reminder that destructive powers can create beautiful things.
Take the sand, for instance – the water has spent eons pounding away at rocks, coral, and shells, creating the tiny grains of sand that feel so good under our feet. The beach would be quite different if the water wasn’t relentlessly wearing down the hard objects in its path.
Water has astonishing power, yet it’s not intending to destroy what it destroys, it’s just flowing. In your life it’s just the same – you are a benevolent person with astonishing power who uses your power for good most of the time. Occasionally your words come out harsher than usual, maybe inflicting pain on another person.
The pain wasn’t your intention, yet that episode in that person’s life could well be a moment of personal growth or needed change that wouldn’t have happened otherwise. Your power used in a way that you might see as harmful has helped the other person become more whole.
