Do You Have a Best Friend or a Beast Friend?

Do you have friends? Then today is your day! Today is the International Day of Friendship and this issue of the weekly newsletter explores the mysteries of our friendships.

There are two sides to friendship – the positives and the not-so-positives. Because every single person is human, we bring both sides of ourselves to all our friendships, and so do our friends. That means that each friendship has the potential to be a rollercoaster, with the size of the hills and valleys in the hands of both people. That’s what makes friendships so complicated!

Humans are hard-wired to form communities, and friends are the non-family community we create. Like family, friends can provide emotional support, validation, companionship, and strong pathways to happiness through shared experiences. Are You Celebrating Today?

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, which can only mean one thing – today is Galentine’s Day! What? You’ve never heard of it? Read on…

While men’s friendships are more transactional in nature and can be fairly easily disrupted by shifting...

Behold! The Power of a Cellphone!

I wish I had a cell phone – mom says I can’t work one. She should know how smart I am by now…sheesh!! Anyway, you have a cell phone and here’s a good thing to do with it – every morning send one text to a friend you haven’t talked to or seen in a while. Just one. Every morning. You’ll put a smile on their face, and at some point in the day you’ll probably get a sweet note back from them when you least expect it and maybe when you most need a nice surprise. Nurture your friendships – it’s as simple as a text a day – and your friends will nurture you.

I’m Kacey and I love veterinarians!
