How to Stop Killing Your Own Confidence - Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites Podcast
Do you ever look back on a chapter of your life – maybe a career decision, maybe a relationship, maybe some other major life event – and feel disappointed in yourself or your choices?
Most of us do that from time to time, and it doesn’t usually feel very good when we do it. That’s because what we’re actually doing is driving down our own sense of self-worth.
You don’t want to do that, do you? Time to learn to notice your thoughts and quickly reframe them.
Let’s pretend you worked at a job or career that wasn’t a good fit, and now you’re feeling like you wasted your time when you should have been doing something different.
Did you really waste time or did you learn valuable lessons?
When you went into that job or career, chances are you were excited and happy, right? Along the way, you grew to understand that the reality of the job was different than what you’d imagined or hoped for, so you made a change. That’s not a waste of time – that’s personal growth.
Please stop kicking yourself for doing a wonderful thing – learning and growing. Celebrate the not-optimal chapters the same way you celebrate the wonderful ones. They’re all part of who you are.
